Are you ready to see a side of Mexico that is bright, colorful and teeming with positive energy? Then join us for a tour of the funky and cool beach towns of Sayulita and San Pancho! These two hidden treasures just north of Vallarta are known for inviting beaches, delicious food, eclectic art, rich history and vibrant culture, plus a bohemian vibe that will make you wish this half-day tour would last all day.
This pueblo has become a famous surfer’s retreat in recent years, but it’s also a must-see destination for anyone who wants to check out a hipper side of Mexico. What’s your pleasure? You can lounge on the beach amid a sea of colorful umbrellas or sip cerveza in the shade of a beachside bar’s canopy while watching the waves reshape the soft sand. Love to shop? You’ll be in good company in Sayulita’s many stores! You’ll usually hear music in the streets as you explore this vibrant and colorful town, and every day can feel like a party.
The second stop on your Sayulita and San Pancho tour couldn’t be more different from the first! From native Huichol crafts to wild upcycled creations that support the community’s children, culture is always on tap in San Pancho (which is sometimes called San Francisco). Check out Entreamigos, San Pancho’s community center, library and performance space. Love sports? Where Sayulita has surf, San Pancho has polo. Sports lovers should make a point of watching a game at La Patrona Polo Club. Or if the beautiful nature is what brought you to Mexico, you should know that the birding in San Pancho is worth the trip! In fact, this pueblo’s estuary is one of the great birding sites in Nayarit.
Some people make the trek from Sayulita to San Pancho on foot because the hour-long hike along beaches and lush jungle trails is nothing short of enchanting. However, because this tour is only six hours long, we take you from one town to the next up Highway 200 in about five minutes. You and your group will enjoy all the sights, sounds and flavors these two pueblos have to offer as you stroll the avenues, shop for souvenirs and meet people so friendly you’ll have a smile on your face from start to finish.
On this tour of the beautiful seaside villages of Sayulita and San Pancho, we give our guests plenty of free time to grab a snack or a drink in the local restaurants and bars, browse the boutiques and swim when conditions allow. This tour is definitely focused on the many things to see and do in the towns we’ll visit and all they have to offer, but if you want to use your free time to take a dip then just make sure you bring a towel!
Or whatever else tickles your taste buds! There will be lots of opportunities to sip and snack throughout your Sayulita and San Pancho tours – and lots of delicious things to eat. How about fish tacos with the freshest locally caught fish you can imagine? Or ceviche, one of the foods Mexico is famous for? In the streets of Sayulita and San Pancho you’ll also find homemade ice cream and plenty of sweets. Whether your tastes run toward street food or fine dining, there’s so much to sample!
